30 things in 30 days...

The latest challenge on Chavah Kinloch’s Blog (which is well worth the read) is her 31 things in 31 days..
When she posted her list initially, I thought hmm good idea, instead of looking at an ever-growing list of to-do's it breaks it down. Then I forgot about it... I 've just received her update and although she completed only half of her list – read the update here, she has really inspired me to set some goals for myself.

As it’s the last day of May today, the 1st of June will be the perfect day to start.. Here are 30 things I’ve set myself to do.

Delicious Cheese & Vegemite Scrolls

These are quick and easy to make – and the kids will love them!

3 cups flour
3t baking powder
50g butter, chopped
1 ¼ cups milk
1 ½ cups grated cheese (I’d suggest tasty)
1 egg, beaten lightly
Vegemite (or Marmite)

Preheat the oven to 210°C.

Place the flour and baking powder in a bowl. Add the chopped butter and rub it into the flour using your finger tips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Make a well in the centre and add the milk. Mix it together quickly to make a soft dough.

Tip the dough on to a lightly floured surface and roll out into a rectangle 30cm x 24cm

Spread Vegemite over the dough (this is easier if gently heated first). Brush the lightly beaten egg over and then sprinkle with the grated cheese.

Roll the dough from the longest side into a pinwheel and cut into 10 slices. Lay the slices on a baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.

Do Blondes really have more fun..?

Or do you get taken more seriously if you’re Brunette? Where do Red-heads feature in this?

This Wednesday I’m lending my hair to Synergy – The Palms.. They need models for a Cut and Colour using a new Schwarzkopf product line. Although I’m naturally Brunette, I’ve been Blonde for as long as I can remember/had a job to pay for the foils!

I feel its time for a change, Winter is coming, I’m  Mum of two under two, do I need to be more responsible? More sensible? What makes me think being Brunette would be more responsible?

During my first pregnancy I “went dark” briefly as I was concerned about the impact of hair colour on my unborn child and in that short time I noticed people seemed to listen more, even checkout assistants at Woolworths seemed to say Hello more often.

I’ll be updating you with how it looks, if others treat me differently and I’ll see if I can get some insight from the girls at the salon.
